How does Power Training differ from ‘spinning’?

‘Power’ is the rate at which you ‘work’ or generate energy. It is measured in watts (or in old world language, horse-power !). A watt is an energy output of 1 Joule per second. It can also be thought of in terms of ‘force times speed’. Improving strength (force), speed or both will increase your ‘power’ and allow you to burn energy faster (and more efficiently), which is what top athletes do.

What is CycleOps Virtual Indoor Power (VIP) Training?

Our CycleOps Phantom 3 bikes, interactive Virtual Training app and HD video content create a virtual reality environment that realistically brings the ‘out there’ ride ‘in here’. We have video footage from many classic routes such as the Tour De France, Giro D’Italia and Cape Argus Cycle Tour, together with a wide variety of music options to ensure that you never get bored.

How does VIP cater for people of different abilities and levels of fitness?

Because we use personalized power zones for each rider, our bespoke software allows every person to ride at a similar level of effort, even in a group class. This ensures similar training benefits, benchmarked to individual capabilities.
